Handcrafted Apricot Wood Light-Duty Spatula – 14.5"
Handcrafted Apricot Wood Light-Duty Spatula – 14.5"
This one-of-a-kind wooden spatula was handcrafted from a branch of an apricot tree planted on our small homestead in the summer of 1989.
For decades, this tree has grown organically on our land, providing fruit, shade, and many years of memories. When one of its branches was pruned, the wood was saved and shaped by hand into a useful kitchen tool, allowing a small part of the tree’s story to continue.
Measuring approximately 14.5 inches long, this is a lighter, more delicate spatula made for gentler kitchen tasks. Its narrow shape makes it especially useful for stirring sourdough starter, jams, jellies, sauces, gravies, and other mixtures that do not require a heavy or wide utensil.
The long handle gives you a comfortable reach when stirring a pot of warm jam, while the slender end works well inside starter jars, mixing bowls, and smaller containers. It can also be used for blending dressings, stirring drinks, folding together light batters, or scraping down the sides of a jar.
Because this is a lighter handcrafted piece, it is best suited for stirring and mixing rather than turning heavy foods or scraping firmly against a pan.
The apricot tree was grown organically on our small homestead, and the spatula has a natural finish that allows the warm coloring, grain, and individual character of the wood to remain visible. Each piece follows the natural qualities of the branch from which it was made, so no two are exactly alike.
