Handcrafted Apricot Wood Angled Spatula – One of a Kind, 13"

This one-of-a-kind wooden spatula was handcrafted from a branch of an apricot tree planted on our small homestead in the summer of 1989.

For decades, this tree has given us apricots, shade, and a beautiful reminder of the years spent growing food on this land. When one of its branches was pruned, the wood was saved and shaped by hand into a useful kitchen tool rather than being allowed to go to waste.

Approximately 13 inches long, this spatula has a distinctive angled shape similar to a hockey stick. The gently turned end makes it especially useful for reaching into the corners of skillets, Dutch ovens, and deeper pots. Use it to stir soups and sauces, sauté vegetables, turn potatoes, fold ingredients together, scrape flavorful bits from the bottom of a pan, or pull food away from the sides while cooking.

The longer handle provides a comfortable reach when working over a hot stove, while the narrow, angled end gives you more control than a traditional wide spatula. It is a practical everyday tool, but its natural grain and unusual shape also make it a beautiful piece to keep within reach in the kitchen.

The apricot tree was grown organically on our small homestead, and the spatula has been given a natural finish that allows the color, grain, knots, and character of the wood to remain visible. Because each piece follows the natural shape of the branch from which it was made, no two will ever be exactly alike.
