Handcrafted Apricot Wood Sourdough Starter Stirrer – One of a Kind, 14.5"

This one-of-a-kind wooden stirrer was handcrafted from a branch of an apricot tree planted on our small homestead in the summer of 1989.

For decades, this tree has grown organically on our land, producing fruit, offering shade, and becoming part of the story of our homestead. When one of its branches was pruned, the wood was saved and shaped by hand into a useful kitchen tool rather than being allowed to go to waste.

Measuring approximately 14.5 inches long, this piece is especially well suited for stirring sourdough starter. Its long, narrow shape reaches easily into jars and deeper containers, making it useful for mixing flour and water, working out dry pockets, scraping down the sides, and keeping your starter evenly combined.

It can also be used for mixing sauces, stirring batters, blending dressings, or reaching into narrow jars and pitchers where a traditional wooden spoon may feel too wide or bulky.

The apricot wood has beautiful natural character, with grain and color that make this piece as lovely as it is practical. Because it was made from a real branch and shaped individually by hand, no two stirrers will ever be exactly alike.

The tree was grown organically on our small homestead, and the stirrer has been given a natural finish that allows the grain, markings, and warmth of the wood to remain the focus.
